***Glitter Pumpkins***

Last night Trav had an away game (which they won!!! His team is still undefeated! Go Wildcats!) so I had the evening to myself! :) I've been wanting to make some glittery pumpkins so that is just what I did! You can't really tell in the pics... but I put each of our initials on the front in a different colored glitter. I bought Martha Stewart glitter...which if you've never bought it... you MUST! It makes you want to glitter everything in your house! I seriously walked around my house looking for things that I could shake my glitter bottles on:) Plus good old Martha has named her glitters very enticing names... these are the colors I used last night... Florentine Gold, Smoky Quartz and White Gold! :) Happy Fall everyone!
I ended up putting them on my front porch by my festive fall mums!!!

Before and After...

As promised...here are the before and after of my new light fixture from Canton!!! I bought the fixture for $35.... yesterday I sold the hideous old fan on Craigslist for $25... so really it just cost me $10!!! Ahhh yes... you gotta love it!! :)

BEFORE

What a GREAT husband!!! :)
AFTER
Oooo I love it:) I need to get some of those
light bulbs with pointy tips.. (I'm sure there is
a correct term for them..but what it is I don't
know..ha!). And then this weekend I'm going
to Hobby Lobby to find some fall decorations
to hang from it! Anybody got any cute ideas?

Wonderful Weekend!

We had such a great weekend! My family came down from Missouri for a visit which is always such a treat! Friday night we went to the highschool football game... it was fun because they had never seen anything like it! (there is definitly NOTHING like Texas highschool football!) Emma as usual did great and slept by her Grandpa for almost an entire quarter (very uncharacteristic of her!). We decided that Grandpa has "the touch"...she fell asleep in his arms several times this weekend:)
Saturday we loaded up in the car and went to Canton (for those of you who don't know what that is...it's basically a humongous flea market with lots of crafts, fair food! and basically things you don't need but want!). Even though it's October it was a VERY warm day in the 90's! Hank and Tricia came with us which was so nice! We all had a really great time shopping and eating ( I have a feeling the girls probably enjoyed it a little more than the guys:) ). I walked away from Canton with a FABULOUS find! Two of them actually. I bought 2 light fixtures...one for the dining room (there used to be a hideous white and gold fan in there) and one for our front porch (again...a hideous little light was there too). I bought both lights for $40! I will post before and after pictures... the dining room light made SUCH a difference in how the room looked! Dad, Travis and Tim put both of the lights up for me...thanks guys!
Sunday we went to church and then out for lunch at Double Dave's Pizza! It was such a treat! We then went home and took Sunday afternoon naps. After naps we all went on a walk to the park.
It was such a great weekend spending time with the people we love!
Oh...one more thing! Emma figured out how to crawl this weekend!!! Her Grandpa had put her on the floor right by a milk jug (we were eating breakfast) and she crawled for it! She's pretty slow at it still....but she definitly has it!
Have a great Monday everyone!

(for some reason the pictures won't drag below my blog... so that's why they're at the top!)

Date Night, Football and the Fair!

The past couple of days have been so wonderful! We have been staying very busy! Monday night Trav took his "girls" out for barbeque...which was so delicious! Tuesday night Trav had a jr. high game which they WON!!! They are now 4 and 0!!! Go Wildcats! :) Today we went to the Texas State Fair!!!!!! We had such a great day! We all (INCLUDING Emma!) slept in until 10 this morning and headed to the zoo around noon. The weather was so beautiful...sunny and low 80s. We looked at the animals, cars, watched the bird show, watched 2 cooking shows, ate lots of fried foods and played a dart game so that we could win a stuffed hippo for Emma! Trav and I are always interested in what other people eat at the fair...so I will share with you what we ate today! :)

Trav's Fair Food- Fletcher's Corny Dog and Dr. Pepper, Pumpkin Soup and Lobster Ravioli (from the cooking show), Vanilla Icecream (from the dairy exhibit), Fried Cookie Dough, Crab Cake (from the other cooking show), Fried Queso

Ashley's Fair Food- I had the same thing minus the Corny dog... :)

The past couple of days have been so fun but I am REALLY looking forward to this weekend... my family is coming from Missouri! I can not WAIT to see them and for them to see Emma again! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Ha Chooo!

Fall is Here!!

Well yesterday was OFFICIALLY the first day of fall! I had planned on posting yesterday but my camera wouldn't cooperate and download my fall pics... so I am celebrating the first day of fall today on our blog! I am really excited about fall and winter this year because we have Emma! I'm excited to introduce her to all of the wonderful things that have to do with fall! Cooler weather, sweatshirts, the colors of the leaves, fall decorations, Chili, pumpkins, hot cocoa and of course lots and lots of football games!
Last night Trav coached his 8th grade team and they won again! So far they're 3 and 0!!! Way to go Coach Howry! Emma as usual was a great cheerleader:) she didn't fuss and kept herself entertained on her quilt for almost the entire game.
Happy Fall everyone!
